Rita graduated from the Baltimore School of Massage in 2006. She furthered her experience and education while employed at Richmond Hill Massage Clinic and later Hinesville Day Spa and Salon in Georgia. Rita earned National certification in 2008 and became Board Certified in 2016. She established Leaven Massage Therapy LLC in 2017 in Moreauville Louisiana after 5 consecutive years of successfully running Leaven Massage Therapy, she relocated to Houston Texas
and was employed at Oasis Moroccan Bath Luxury Hammam Spa for two years. During which time she continued to personally advance and acquired additional therapy skills such as Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist. After becoming established in the community she ventured out again, converting Leaven Massage Therapy to a Texas domestic entity called Valence Bodywork Collection LLC. Rita holds certifications in Medical Massage, Ashiatsu, Thai massage, Graston technique, Lymphatic and Lymphedema treatment, Visceral manipulation, Foot reflexology, Kinesiology taping, Microcurrent point stimulation therapy for pain management and scar treatment and is Licensed in the state of Texas and Louisiana.
My Story
Leaven Massage Therapy LLC was established in fall 2016 in efforts to bring quality, economical massage therapy to Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. Leaven massage clinic presented an upscale, spa-like environment that focused strictly on therapeutic massage therapy services that consisted of treatments like Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Geriatric massage .
Leaven Massage Therapy provided services both in clinic and outcall. Only certain services were available to book online. Mobile massage appointments where required to be booked by phone; all treatments offered at Leaven Massage Therapy were available for outcall, commercial or residential.
I encourage everyone to try massage therapy at least once to make an "informed decision" as to whether one would like to incorporate massage as a valuable addition to there health and wellness regime.
I committed to continuing education as to provide my clients with state of the art services. Continuing education also affords adding new modalities which allows expansion of the demographics I serve in the community; so there's no limit to whom can benefit from what massage has to offer.
From February 2019 through July 2022 a series of unfavorable personal events had accumulated to force an untimely relocation which was unfortunate because Leaven Massage Therapy was doing well and was still growing.
Before moving to Houston Texas I was able to gain employment at a Luxury Hammam spa and also later gained a couple of regular private outcall clients referred to be by a colleague. I chose a luxury spa in hopes that it would meet at least the minimum of what I strive to provide for my own clients which is high quality service in a pleasant upscale environment.
With an entrepreneural spirit, it was only a matter of time before I would venture off on my own again. When it comes to a business model, I strive to provide what I desire to receive. Therefore I do not put forth to my client anything that I would not be willing to accept myself. Clients of premium preference are more discerning, with high expectations. Valence is a collection of premium bodywork providing a unique and finer experience in massage and bodywork.
